A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Center for Smart Infrastructure Resilience and Sustainability, United International University (CSIRS-UIU) and Red Orange Limited on 22 January 2025 at UIU Campus, United City, Madani Avenue, Dhaka-1212.
Prof. Dr. Md. Abul Kashem Mia, Vice Chancellor, United International University (UIU) was present as the Chief Guest in the ceremony. Among others, Prof. Dr. Md. Mujibur Rahman, Department of Civil Engineering & Director, CSIRS-UIU, Mr. Arnob Chakrabarty, Managing Director, Red Orange Limited, Mr. Alok Kumar Majumder, Director, Programmes and Operations, Red Orange Limited, and Dr. Rumana Afrin, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Civil Engineering & Associate Director, CSIRS-UIU were present in the ceremony.
The Director of CSIRS-UIU and the Managing Director, Red Orange Limited signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations. While deans of different faculties, heads of different departments, registrar, directors, faculty members and high officials of both organizations were present in the ceremony.
In this MoU, The Red Orange Limited and CSIRS-UIU will pursue opportunities for funding and implementation of innovative works on WASH, Environment, Climate Change and Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM). The parties will collaborate on designing, developing, financing and implementing different opportunities in WASH and testing and rolling out different innovations around WASH. Also, collaborate on multiple projects with aim to enhance the plastic economy in urban areas through holistic approaches that integrate technical solutions (e.g. installing floating barriers to reduce flooding), community-level initiatives, and capacity building for waste workers, collectors, and other stakeholders.
